Decision Taken By: CABINET
Decision No: D120148CAB
Date: 19th November 2012
Decision(s) and Reason(s)
Community Right to Bid
Minutes
The report gave details of the Community Right to Bid, recently introduced by the Government as part of the Localism Act. This allowed town/parish councils and local community groups the opportunity to nominate a local site or building to be included on a register of "assets of community value". An explanation was given of the Borough Council's responsibilities together with proposals for how they should be discharged.
The Cabinet resolved that:
1) the suggested approach to dealing with the provisions of the Community Right to Bid, as set out in the report, be endorsed; and
2) delegated authority be given to:
(a) the Corporate Services Manager to assess each community asset nomination received and the Chief Executive to determine any subsequent request for review;
(b) the Central Services Director to determine applications for compensation and the Chief Executive to determine any subsequent request for review.
Reasons: As set out in the report of the Management Team.
Signed Chief Executive: D Hughes
